VIDEO LIBRARY

DANCE ETTIQUETTE

HSSDC is putting together a DVD Library of workshops from various conventions to loan out to dancers. Wouldn’t it be great to enjoy the benefits of the classes without having to purchase the DVD’s.  Details will follow in the next news- letter.  Any HSSDC members that have DVD’s from the workshops and would like to make your DVD available to the library please contact our librarian Roberto at robherroj@yahoo.com or Pat Devereaux at patdev@netzero.net

For all you dancers remember your dance etiquette “Stay in your slot and be aware of other dancers around you.  Bruises and broken bones make dancing difficult

HSSDC DANCE

EL CHARRO NITES

Theresa McGarry from Sacramento shall be our guest Instructor for our dance on June 28th the Brewery Art Center.  There will be a Nightclub 2-step lesson from 5:30-6:30 then an int. WCS lesson at 7:00.  Then on to a night of fun dancing.  You can purchase both lessons for $15.00 or 1 lesson for $10.00.  As always our admission to the dance is $10.00 for non club members and $7.00 for members.

Don’t forget Monday nights the dance floor is rocking with West Coast Swing at El Charros in Carson City.  Invite your friends, family or even strangers off the street for a few hours of fun each week.  Bring your favorite CD and our entertainment crew will play it.  We wish to thank El Charro for allowing us this night so always show your support with the purchase of food or drinks.  We want to keep this night going.

CONTESTS

RENO ADVANCE-INTERMEDIATE CLASSES

HSSDC is trying to introduce a type of contest at each of our dances. It could be an Intermediate or Beginner Jack and Jill or Strictly Swing.  Some will have costume themes as in Julys dance  (Hot August nights).  What better place to learn about competition dancing then in front of friends.  After all it’s all about fun. So plan on participating.  Rules will be supplied at each dance and in the upcoming newsletters.

Jim and Donna are looking to start and advance-intermediate class in Reno. More details will follow but let them know if you are interested as soon as possible.
